What we are doing now

We are working on the construction of a new 50 m2 space designed for the organizations activities with children. In this way, proposals for different age groups can be separated since the current space will be reserved for working with teenagers, while all activities for children will be moved to the new room.

Why we are doing this

The “Por un Mundo Mejor” community center is an organization that has been promoting and protecting children and teenagers‘ rights since 1985, through education, sports, recreation, and culture. Additionally, it operates as a soup kitchen and has a nursery and kindergarten. It is located in the Kilómetro 13 neighborhood in Quilmes, where there are more than 200 families facing vulnerability and various environmental and social challenges. This organization conducts a range of activities related to the children and teenagers of the neighborhood, including workshops such as baking, P.E., playgroups, academic support, kindergarten, percussion groups, and sexual education workshops for teenagers.
Due to the lack of specific and suitable spaces, children currently carry out their activities in the same place as teenagers, leading to various challenges. Therefore, it is essential to expand and reorganize the spaces to allow for the separation of activities based on age groups.

With this project we:

  • Strengthen access to the rights of children and teenagers who attend the “Por un Mundo Mejor” community center.
  • Enhance the quality of life for children and facilitate access to fundamental rights such as education, culture, recreation, and sports.
  • Strengthen the organization in the process of expanding the available space.
