What we are doing
We are working on the extension of the “Soup Kitchen Polito” and on the reconditioning of the park so that more children can count on community spaces.
Why
Neighbors from “Zepa B” mutually carry out the “soup kitchen Polito” at night, where more than 70 children attend. At this place, they offer meals during the afternoon and night, school tutoring and several workshops. The small space that exists currently is made of concrete blocks without plaster, it does not have joinery, and it does not have restrooms nor safe drinking water. The cooking is carried out in the open air and the activities are subject to weather conditions. Furthermore, the soup kitchen is next to the neighborhood’s park, which is an ideal ally for the cultural activities of the place. Also, the park does not have the necessary equipment or installations for community meetings.
With this project we
- Improve community spaces which children from the neighborhood can access to.
- Promote community bonding by improving the conditions of a meeting place.
