What we are doing

We are working together with EFA Avellaneda farming school in designing a harvest and rainwater storage system so that 20 families in San Antonio de Copo have access to safe water all year round.

Why

San Antonio de Copo is a remote rural location in the south of Santiago del Estero province. Its 300 inhabitants live in houses scattered around the bush, with no access to basic services such as electricity or water. Lack of water is an issue that impacts daily life and the productive development of the community. In order to get supplies, they depend on the city tank truck or wells, dams and streams which water is not always suitable for human consumption.

• Facilitate the autonomy of the families in terms of water supply.

• Encourage the involvement of locals in their community development.

• Leave installed capacity in constructive tasks within the community.

• Promote EFA Avellaneda as a key actor for fostering local development.
